Let Jews Remain In
Judea and Samaria
The area that the media repetitively
refers to as the West Bank has been
called Judea and Samaria since time
immemorial. It has been known as
Judea and Samaria for over 3,000
years.
The West Bank was a political term
coined after Judea and Samaria were
liberated by Israel in 1967 during
the Six-Day War. It's used in order to
de-legitimize Israel's historic claim to
this heartland of Jewish history.
Judea and Samaria has had Jews
longer than France has had French
or Egypt has had Arabs. The cultural,
historic and religious claim is far
greater than any of the long list of
invaders and occupiers can manufac-
ture. Expelling Israel from their land
would leave Israel only 9 miles wide.
The advocates of expelling Israel
from Judea and Samaria and large
parts of Jerusalem want to leave
Israel vulnerable to invasion by the
Arab/Muslim armies surrounding
her. The devious purpose of remov-
ing Israel from Judea and Samaria,
which is being proposed at the U.N.,
is not to create a 22nd Arab/Muslim-
controlled country but to exterminate
the only Jewish state.
Those supporting the imposition of
an Arab/Muslim state within the bor-
ders of Israel, knowingly or unknow-
ingly, support the genocide of the
Jewish people.

Why I Back AIPAC
And Not J Street
After the Israelites left Egypt, God
called them Ahm Kese Oref a
stiff-necked people. This has been
a curse upon our people to this day.
The Second Temple was destroyed
and many thousands slaughtered in
Israel because Jews turned against
each other.
My sons and I are ardent AIPAC
supporters because AIPAC strongly
supports the people of Israel and
their government, right or left or in
between. I do not agree with ZOA
when they take extreme positions.
But there is no comparison between
the ZOA and J Street.
In my opinion, J Street gives a lot
of comfort to Israel's enemies by
lobbying against the Israeli govern-
ment and J Street accepts money
from Arab sources, who are vicious

enemies of Israel and who cannot
show their hatred of Israel openly but
are thrilled left-wing Jews are attack-
ing the Israeli government. They love
J Street.
In my opinion, no Jew anywhere
in the world has the right to inter-
fere with Israel's foreign policy and
defense. They can criticize everything
else. The people of Israel will live and
die by their decisions. We have to
support Israel unconditionally. Israel
with all its warts is our salvation.
Without Israel, in time, Jews will dis-
appear from the world.

A Christian's View
Of Eagle School
As a Christian, a Farmington Hills
homeowner, a taxpayer to the
Farmington Public Schools and a
very active pro-Israel supporter, I was
offended by the remarks of Robert
Cohen, executive director of the
Jewish Community Relations Council,
before the school board and in his
June 30 letter to the editor of the

Jewish News.
It hard to believe that Mr. Cohen
would try to justify his support of
the Eagle School sale to the Islamic
Cultural Association by asserting that
to do otherwise would "threaten to
undermine our ongoing Israel advo-
cacy efforts."
Further, Mr. Cohen alleges that
"generating sympathy and even sup-
port for Israel among mainstream
Christian denominations would only
be made more difficult if the Jewish
community was seen standing in the
way of legitimate Muslim efforts to
strengthen their community."
Where is the documentation,
attribution or statistical data to cor-
roborate his outrageous claim? Has
he polled local Christians, including
Coptics, Chaldeans and Maronites
— among those brutally persecuted
in the Muslim world — to ascertain
their position? Is Mr. Cohen aware of
the efforts of large Christian orga-
nizations, like the Oak Initiative,
to educate about the threats of the
Muslim Brotherhood?

pleased that you recognized our 50th
reunion as important. The story has
generated much additional interest.
As Mumford prepared us for life, the
new Mumford symbolizes that hope
to a new and changing Detroit.
Within our reunion committee,
I'd like to mention three important
links that are integral to our plan-
ning process. Marvin Weinstein is our
treasurer. He is also responsible for
seeing that our reunion is inclusive.
Classmates that may need help in get-
ting to the reunion privately receive
aid through him.
Marshall Korby, co-chair of enter-
tainment is helping to organize a
stage musical review program as part
of our Aug. 28 Mumford visit and
brunch. He also designed and pro-
duces our nametags and labels.
Ben Craine is co-chair of the web-
site. Ben's idea to keep the website
easy to access are testament to the
fact that we are now averaging close
to 100 users a day who stay on the
site for long periods of time.
Thank you for the wonderful
article.

The Other Side
Of 'Veggie War'
I was disappointed to see so much
attention go to Julie Bass and her
vegetable garden ("Veggie War Goes
Viral," July 21, page 1). I feel her yard
is an eyesore and is poorly main-
tained.
Oak Park is not anti-vegetable.
The city is merely trying to maintain
aesthetics for the good of all of its
citizens.
Mrs. Bass is calling an inappropri-
ate amount of attention to herself
and the community. Her blog has a
link so people can give donations for
legal expenses.
Charities in this community are
suffering from the current economic
conditions. Mrs. Bass should use the
donations to help others within her
own community. Perhaps she could
donate funds collected from her blog
to buy fresh produce for those who
are hungry.
