BRIDGEFORD ° The Bridgeford faucet completes a Bookstock Needs New Warehouse The Bookstock Used Book and Media Sale is seeking new space to serve as a warehouse, sorting and drop-off depot. Bookstock's annual spring sale has contributed nearly $1 million over the last nine years to literacy and educational programs in Southeast Michigan. For four years, the owners of Bloomfield Plaza at Maple and Telegraph have graciously donated space free of charge. They now need to explore other uses for this space. Bookstock is seeking an open, indoor, heated space with at least 2,000-3,000 square feet. Possibilities include a freestanding building, a space within an office building or strip mall or a storage facility. A loca- tion in the area bounded by Square Lake Road, Woodward Avenue, 12 Mile and Orchard Lake roads is pre- ferred. The space would be used to accept, sort and store used donated materials until they are moved in the spring to the annual sale at Laurel Park Place in Livonia. Bookstock volunteers work from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesdays, with some variations. The organization also has six or seven Sunday drop-offs during the year, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bookstock chairs will also need access at other times to assess what has been donated. First-floor space with private, outside entry is preferred and is needed from August 2011 until June 1, 2012 or longer, if available. If you can help with space, call Janet Berman, Bookstock co-chair, at (248) 408-2620 or e-mail at janet@ bookstock.info. The Bookstock Used Book and Media Sale is the largest sale of its type in Michigan. For more informa- tion, visit www.bookstock.info.
