The Sholem Aleichem Institute will
host Bea Moss who will present a
talk on Marc Chagall, his early years,
including his involvement with the
MoscowYiddish Theater.
The event will take place Sunday,

Community Center in Oak Park.

Genealogy Finds Owners
Of Art Stolen By Nazis
A Jewish genealogy lecture is sched-
uled for Sunday, June 26, 11 a.m. at
the Holocaust Memorial Center in
Farmington Hills. Karen Franklin will
discuss genealogical research tech-
niques used to unite Nazi-era stolen
art with its rightful owners.
Franklin is the curator of "The
Morgenthaus: A Legacy of Service
currently on display at the Manhattan
Museum of Jewish Heritage — a
Living Memorial to the Holocaust.

Vote Sunday To Win A Car
For Jewish Family Service
Jewish Family Service (JFS) is a final-
ist in the Toyota 100 Cars for Good
program, a Facebook-enabled phi-
lanthropy initiative whereby Toyota
will give 100 cars in 100 days to 100
deserving charitable organizations.
Each day, five finalist organizations
will compete for popular votes via a
dedicated Facebook application. The
organization receiving the most votes
at the end of the day will receive a
car. Runners-up will receive $1,000.
The JFS Escorted Transportation
Department provides more than
28,000 rides a year to more than
1,100 clients. More than 75 percent
are older than 70 and more than 94
percent of the rides provided are for
medical appointments. The service
allows for many JFS clients to remain
living in their own homes.

Russian WW II Vets
To Speak At HMC
The Holocaust Memorial Center,
in conjunction with the Michigan
Association of Russian-Speaking
Jewry (MARJA), will host a luncheon
on Sunday, June 19.
Beginning at 2 p.m. at the
Holocaust Memorial Center in
Farmington Hills, the event will raise
funds for construction of a WWII
Veterans Memorial at the center.
Tickets start at $25 and must be
purchased in advance. Sponsorship,
benefactor and patron packages also
are available.
Attendees will have the opportu-
nity to meet with WWII veterans and
hear their stories. Soviet partisan
and WWII veteran Yakov Sigal and
American WWII veteran Albert Zack
are the featured speakers who will
discuss stories of survival and fight-
ing against the Nazis.
Additionally, attendees can submit
the names, wartime photos and mem-
orabilia for the WWII veteran in their
family to be displayed at the memorial.
The Jewish War Veterans of the
United States of America and Detroit
Association of Jewish WWII Veterans
from Former USSR are among the
other contributing organizations.

Temple Israel Men
Plan Golf Outing
Temple Israel Brotherhood will
host 18 holes of golf at an outing at
Tanglewood, including cart, lunch,
dinner and raffle on Monday, June
