UNRWA Schools from page 29

1948 must remain in the squalor of
UNRWA camps and prepare them-
selves to engage in the 'armed strug-
gle' to take back villages that their
grandparents left in 1948," Bedein
told the JN in an exclusive online
interview.
Of course, those villages no longer
exist. Most of the 800,000 Arabs
who fled Israel did so at their lead-
ers' behest before Arab armies
attacked the Palestinian Jews seek-
ing Israeli statehood. P.A. schools
identify all areas lost to statehood in
1948 as Palestinian lands, while new
P.A. textbooks and lesson plans glo-
rify anyone who adheres to jihad to
"liberate" lands lost in 1948.

Coming To Grips

The Winnipeg Jewish Review
deserves plaudits for taking an
independent look at the deception
that David Bedein follows every
day on the Jewish world's behalf.
Fed up with the misrepresenta-
tion, the Canadian government has
reduced its annual general support
of UNRWA, now supporting only
food relief. Washington should stand
up and take notice — and demand
accountability if not funding sanc-
tions on UNRWA.
UNRWA could well become a con-
structive agency if its policies fell
under the aegis of the U.N. High
Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR),
who makes resettlement a priority
when repatriation isn't going to hap-
pen. Bedein's film concludes with
exclusive footage from Chile of the
UNHCR initiative to resettle 20,000
Palestinians who had been wallowing
in Iraq. "The fact that a U.N. agency
is actively resettling Palestinian refu-
gees represents a step in the right
direction," Bedein told the JN.
He's right: If the U.S. annual alloca-
tion of $268 million for UNRWA was
allocated instead to the UNHCR to
solve the aimless status for descen-
dants of Palestinian refugees, yet
another generation would be saved
from the degradation of being pawns
in the Palestinian leadership pursuit
of ousting those "dastardly" Zionist
"interlopers." ❑

Thanks to our Saturday morning school,
B'nai Moshe kids can pretend to be superheroes
they've never seen in cartoons.

Mordecai. Queen Esther. King David. Abraham. They're just a few of the Jewish
heroes your kids will want to emulate when they attend the LIFE. (Learning is a
Family Experience) education program at Congregation B'nai Moshe.

Our kids become interested, excited and connected with Jewish life. We offer top
teachers, small class sizes, innovative learning and unique family programs. Parental
participation is a key to our success.

We also have a Tot Shabbat program on Shabbat mornings for the pre-K crowd.
