Beth Robinson Special to the Jewish News 0 Icier monuments at Workmen's Circle Cemetery in Macomb County often succumb to the brutal- ity of Michigan's dampness and shifting tern- peratures. The land below may buckle, the footings shift or the headstones may topple. Dave Tomlinson, head grounds- keeper at the 92-year-old cemetery, has to decide whether he and his crew of four can heft a stone or if they need to spend $1,000 per hour to rent a crane. Marci Holtzman-Wax of Farmington Hills has been mak- ing the drive out to Gratiot and 14 Mile roads to visit her mother's grave since she was 15. She can point out the near- by graves of aunts, uncles, grandparents, great-aunts and great-uncles and her beloved father who, granting his wife's wish to be buried in Workmen's Circle, faithfully brought geraniums for her grave until his own death in 1982.
