IDA BURSTEIN, 95, of Grosse Pointe Woods, died May 20, 2011. Resulting from the Depression, Ida was sent to secretarial school. She also became a skilled painter of landscapes. An avid reader, she attended many lectures and became a member of the League of Women Voters. Even while liv- ing at Courtyard Manor for seven years, she continued to vote. She assisted her husband with his retail pharmacy and when he became ill, assisted in all details of his care. In later years, she became a very skilled bridge player and also taught bridge. She belonged to a variety of bridge clubs.
