This year's honorees are Marvin Fleischman of Bloomfield Hills, Morrie Greene of Southfield, Austin Kanter of West Bloomfield, Fern Katz of Southfield, Paula Marks-Bolton of West Bloomfield, Jack Robinson of Bloomfield Hills, Wilbert Simkovitz of Oak Park and Bruce Thal of Birmingham. Marvin Fleischman: Random acts of kindness and lay leadership throughout his community emphasize Marvin Fleischman's lifelong commit- ment to Jewish values of generosity and love for family, older adults and community. Morrie Greene: He is a true profes- sional volunteer with commitments to six community agencies weekly. Austin Kanter: An established businessman, Austin Kanter has served by participating on multiple boards within the Jewish community as well as the community at large. Fern Katz: An active member on the Southfield Board of Education, a committee president of WAND (Women's Action for New Directions) and a loving mother and grand- mother, Fern Katz has made her mark in Detroit history through her leader- ship.
