Concert For The Cure
Benefits Diabete Research
Diabetes Research & Education
Advocates of Michigan (DREAM)
will host a Concert for the Cure
Saturday, May 7, at Edgewood
Country Club in Commerce. It will
will raise funds for the University
of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's
Hospital for Type 1 diabetes
research.
Lia Lazarus will host the event,
which includes Ron Bellamy, former
Detroit Lion and West Bloomfield
High School varsity football coach,
and Miss Teen Michigan Taylor
Sherman.
Pre-event registration is at www.
dreamforacure.com at $25. Tickets
at door are $30. Enjoy dinner from
local area restaurants, music plus a
silent auction.
DREAM was founded by the
Kramer and Grodman families, both
of West Bloomfield, in 2009. The
Kramers' son, Tyler, has Type 1 dia-
betes as well as the Grodmans' two
sons, Jared and Adam.

Rabbi Cardozo
On Jewish Identity
The Jewish Forum presents a free
talk by scholar Rabbi Dr. Nathan
Lopes Cardozo at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday,
May 17, at the Holocaust Memorial
Center, 28123 Orchard Lake Road,
Farmington Hills.
The lecture is titled "Counting
Jews: Mortal Danger, Jewish Eternity
and Jewish Identity" Cardozo
reflects on the future of the State of
Israel and its need for inspirational
Judaism.
Cardozo heads the Cardozo-Kagan
Jewish Leadership Program at the
Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya
was launched in response to the
pressing need for Jewish identity
among today's young generation in
Israel.

With Those In Need
Lubavitch Women's Organization has
started a women's clothing branch
open to the Jewish community. The
organization is giving away cloth-
ing in good condition, sizes 2-16,
including dress suits, skirts, shirts
and sweaters. Clothing donations are
accepted.
