exclusive red-carpet
premiere of Meet
Monica Velour starring Kim
Cattrall and Dustin Ingram
on April 12 at the Uptown
Paladium in Birmingham.
The film was made by Golden
Globe Award winner and Oscar-
nominated producer Gary
Gilbert, whose Gilbert Films is
based in Los Angeles. He is a
former Detroiter and brother to
Quicken Loans chairman Dan
Gilbert of Franklin.
Stars Cattrall and Ingram,
plus writer/director Keith
Barden and the Gilberts, min-
gled with the crowd of 300 at
the JARC fundraiser in the the-
ater and at the afterglow party
at Chen Chow in Birmingham.
Meet Monica Velour was
filmed in Michigan. Gilbert also
produced Garden State and The
Kids Are All Right.

JARC fundraiser premiered the new movie, Meet Monica Velour.

Adult Group sponsored
two Friday morning Open Gym
programs this spring for parents
and their preschoolers.
Children enjoyed the syna-
gogue's Muscle Room and par-
ents were able to schmooze. The

sessions were open to the com-
munity at no charge.
There were snacks, visits from
Adat Shalom clergy and early
Shabbat celebrations. Chairing
the program are Franki Bagdade
of West Bloomfield and Stacey
Columbus of Keego Harbor. I
