M
ichele Levin Kurland and
Rabbi Michael Ungar were
married recently in Columbus,
Ohio. Rabbi Harold Berman and Cantor Jack
Chomsky officiated.
The best man was the groom's son, Rami.
The maid of honor was the bride's daugh-
ter, Rachel. Bridesmaids were the groom's
daughters, Adi, Maya and Liat.
Michele is the daughter of Nancy Stone
Levin of Columbus. She received her bach-
elor's degree from the Ohio State University
and her master's from Case Western. She is a
project manager at Progressive Insurance.
Michael is the son of Seymour Ungar of West Bloomfield. He received his
bachelor's degree from Kalamazoo College and his master's and rabbinic
ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. He is a rabbi at
Congregation Tifereth Israel.
After a honeymoon in Costa Rica, the family will reside in Cleveland and
Columbus.

hoda and Timothy Tashjian of
Farmington Hills are delighted to
announce the engagement of their
daughter Amanda Brooke to Jared Easton,
son of Cheryle and Ron Easton of Michigan
City, Ind.
Amanda graduated from the University
of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in
psychology and from the Illinois Institute of
Psychology with a master's degree in rehabil-
itative counseling. She works at Thresholds,
a nonprofit providing persons with mental
illness support and skills. She is pursuing a
Ph.D. in counseling education.
Jared graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in business
administration. He is employed at Paychex Corporation as a field-marketing
manager.
A June wedding is planned at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield. The couple
will reside in Chicago, Ill.

Kretchmer of Huntington Woods
celebrated their 50th wed-
ding anniversary with a trip to Vietnam,
Cambodia and Thailand. They also
were given a party for family and close
friends at their son and daughter's house.
The party was given by their children,
Geoff Kretchmer, Jody Lipton and Linda
Tikey, and brother Bob Kretchmer. The
Kretchmers were married Nov. 20,1960.
