Ann Arbor JCC celebrates a milestone and honors retiring director.

he Jewish Community Center of
Greater Ann Arbor's 2011 Gala
Auction took place March 27 at
the JCC. The event celebrated the JCC's 25th
anniversary and honored executive director
Leslie Bash on her retirement after more than
nine years of service. Live and silent auctions
and a raffle were all part of the festivities.
The JCC staff and a large auction committee
led by Fran Martin worked for months to
acquire many of the items that were sold.
Auction items included vacation and travel
offers, sports memorabilia, restaurant gift
certificates, books, jewelry, art, lessons,
photographic sessions, Judaica, tickets to
cultural and entertainment events, clothing
and home and food items.
About 250 people attended the gala. El
