Pre-Passover Party

Temple Israel's young families enjoyed a "Part(y)ing of the Sea."

I

n Temple Israel's IMAGINE group of young families gathered April 9 at Goldfish
Swim School in Birmingham for "Part(y)ing of the Sea',' a pre-Passover pool party
. Parents and children enjoyed a fantastic evening, including including a song ses-
sion led by Cantorial Soloist Neil Michaels.
The highlight of the afternoon was a roaring rendition of the song, "Across the Sea:'
as families sang and circled together in the pool. Everyone enjoyed a delicious pizza
dinner and a beautiful Havdalah service, complete with glow sticks as candles, cinna-
mon sticks for the spice box and grape juice boxes for wine. I

Taste Of Michigan

Emanu-El's annual wine tasting followed the seasons.

emple Emanu-El's membership committee hosted its 7th annual wine tasting
March 12 at the temple in Oak Park. This year's theme was "A Taste of Michigan."
The evening featured wines from Lone Oak Vineyard Estate in Grass Lake,
mead from B. Nektar Meadery and coffee from Chazzano Coffee Roasters, both in Ferndale.
Following Havdalah and a toast with L. Mawby's sparking wine "Detroit," the 100 or so
guests enjoyed foods reflecting the five seasons of Michigan: winter, spring, summer, fall
— and construction. In addition to making all of the food and delicious desserts, the
committee, co-chaired by Janeen Fetterman and Kim Milner, put together some incred-
ible baskets that were then raffled off. Winners took home baskets full of University of
Michigan goodies, baking supplies, tools, books and Arbonne products, among others.
Highlights of the event's silent auction included a weeklong stay at a flat in London,
England, a gourmet lunch aboard a sailboat cruising Lake St. Clair, handmade jewelry
and art, and a variety of services provided by local vendors. Music for the evening was
provided by the Jamie Todd Band.
