Here's a look back at when the clubs were estab- lished, what they have to offer and contact information for prospec- tive members. Established in 1927, the club was built on a horse farm and the course was designed by Donald Ross, one of the most influential golf course designers in history. Architect Albert Kahn designed the English Tudor style clubhouse. According to a 2002 publication pro- duced by the Jewish Historical Society of Michigan, "Both men incor- porated the land's natural hilly terrain, large boulders and fieldstones into their designs. Charles N. Agree designed the Tudor clubhouse, which opened in 1928. The club underwent a $10.8 million renovation in 1996. Knollwood offers an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis, swimming, fit- ness facilities, fine dining and a Grand Ballroom which accommodates up to 500 guests. There are four other banquet rooms for smaller events and an open outdoor terrace. According to the club's website, Knollwood "is noted for its beautiful hills and valleys sculpted by a vast variety of trees and natural ponds.
