More than 130 women gathered at Saks Fifth Avenue at the Somerset Collection in Troy on March 11 for this special night. The crowd, which included mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers and girlfriends, watched as models paraded 55 stunning outfits for all occasions down the runway. Top designers, such as Tahari, Gucci, Marchesa and Ippolita were fea- tured. Before the fashion show, attendees enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and cocktails and afterwards had a variety of desserts and shopping. A raffle featuring 29 prizes topped off the evening. Michelle Blau and Nicole Kovacs, both of West Bloomfield, co-chaired the event. "I became involved in ORT because I truly believe in its mission:' Blau said. "As a mother of two young children, I want to give children around the world the same opportunities that mine are so fortunate to have — to attend school, attain an education at any level safely and dream big. This is what ORT does for its stu- dents all over the world:' ORT supporters enjoy fashion, while raising money for education. Kovacs added, "As a national board member of ORT who strongly believes in ORT's mission to educate individuals and provide them with the skills needed for a successful life, I am proud to be a part of an event that not only supports the charity I am passionate about, but also supports our local community where my friends and family live."
