Jim Hiller is a lifelong Detroiter and an ardent supporter of
Michigan. His list of achievements both professionally and in
support of our community is extensive. An accomplished
lawyer, Jim went on to become President and CEO of metro
Detroit's renowned family owned grocery chain - Hiller's
Markets. Jim is married to Marge and they have three sons,
Justin and his wife Laurie, Andrew, and Spencer - along with
their beloved dogs Lilly and Al.

In addition to his business acumen, Jim is a community activist involved with a
host of groups, organizations, and boards in metro Detroit and throughout
Michigan. His most notable community accomplishments include his endowment
of the Hiller ALS Clinic and Research Center at WSU School of Medicine and his
continuing support of ALS of Michigan - Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Jim has a personal interest in ALS. His mother, Harriet Hiller, lost her battle to
the disease in 2000. Since that time Jim has been dedicated to Michigan's
ALS community, both through his commitment to research, and his continuing
support for the needs of pALS (person with ALS) and their families to help
them live every day as fully as possible.

Jim Hiller epitomizes the meaning of "action" and is truly a hero to so many.
It is our honor to be able to recognize his contributions to our ALS community
here in Michigan and around the country.

The proceeds of the event will be used to support the
missions of both ALS of Michigan and The Hiller ALS
Center at WSU School of Medicine. Together, these
two organizations provide medical care, community
services, and hope through research into the cause,
treatment, and eventually the cure of ALS.
