HARVEY WOLOK, 75, of
Farmington Hills, died March
29, 2011.
He is survived by his
beloved wife, Frances Wolok
of Farmington Hills; son and
daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and
Linda Wolok of Midland;
Wolok
daughter and son-in-law, Lori
and Ronald Semel of West Bloomfield; grand-
children, Adam, Adelina, Caleb, Elliana, Lilli
and Jacob; sister and brother-in-law, Sari and
Marc Roland of West Bloomfield; many other
loving family members and friends.
Interment at the Hebrew Memorial Park
Cemetery in Mt. Clemens. Contributions may
be made to the American Heart Association, the
American Diabetes Association or to Temple
Israel. Arrangements by Dorfman Chapel.
Correction
• The obituary for Jerry B. Hartman (March
24) had a misspelled name for one of the sur-
viving sisters. She should have been listed as
Bertha Kirzner.

Philanthropist Pursued
Genocide Remembrance
E
dgar Hagopian, a local busi-
nessman, humanitarian and
philanthropist who worked
closely with Jewish institutions to
bring attention to the Armenian
genocide at the hands of the Turks
during World War I, died of cancer
on March 27, 2011. Mr. Hagopian was
asked to speak at the 50th memo-
rial of the Jewish Holocaust and
was a fundraiser for the Barsamian
exhibit on the Armenian genocide
at the Holocaust Memorial Center
in Farmington Hills (see stories on
pages 24 and 47).
Mr. Hagopian operated
Birmingham-based Hagopian World
of Rugs and Cleaning Services.
He was a volunteer and benefac-
tor in numerous Detroit-area civic,
Edgar Hagopian
artistic and charitable pursuits and
had many friends and associates in
the Jewish community.
Mr. Hagopian is survived by his
wife, Sarah, three children, three
grandsons and two sisters, including
Ilene Blackman. I
