ROSE A. MILLER, 99, of Ann Arbor, died March 29, 2011. She was born in Brooklyn, N. Y., on October 4, 1911, the Miller youngest of eight children of Julius and Rebecca Rosenfeld, who emigrated from Russia 1904-05. She moved to Detroit as a child, attending Detroit schools, gradu- ating from the then new Central High School in three years with honors in 1928. She graduated U of M with a bachelor of science in 1932. Mrs. Miller worked in Michigan state government for a time after graduation and married Ben Y. Miller in 1935. They moved to New York, where she worked as a facilitator for the New York Public Housing Commission during its infancy. With Ben and their new son, she returned to Detroit in 1945 to be closer to her family. She worked again in public housing in Detroit in the 1950s then returned to col- lege earning her master's degree in library science from Wayne State University. She retired as head medical librarian for the Detroit Osteopathic Hospitals. Married 75 years, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by lov- ing husband, Ben, who passed in January, and by brothers Hyman (Dolly) Rosenfeld, Harry (Ethel) Rosenfeld, John (Susan) Rosefield, Louis (Florence) Ross, Sam Rosen, and Sol (Freyda) Rosenfeld, and sister Sabelle (Leonard) Gray. She is survived by sons, Bob (Sherry) Miller of Grand Blanc, and George (Margaret) Miller of Canton, Ohio; grandsons, Kevin of Phoenix and Jeff (Andrea) of Flint; great-granddaughters, Kaitlynn and Jayla Miller of Flint. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, with special thanks to Norman and Dulcie Rosenfeld, Ron Ross, Roslyn Sugarman and the children of the late Aaron Ross. Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.
