After an 18-year battle with Parkinson's Disease, Mr. Cohen passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded Cohen by his loving family. Mr. Cohen graduated University of Michigan School of Business in 1956. He joined the family business, Semco Sales Company, a wholesale supplier of infants and children's toys, novelty and apparel. Later, as the sole owner, he sold the business in 1987. He was an accomplished bridge player. He shared his love of the symphony, classi- cal music and art with his family. He was an avid world traveler, visiting over 100 countries, seeking out Jewish communities and contacts. Photography became a meaningful part of his travels, and he and Gloria enjoyed sharing their slide shows and experiences with their friends and family. Mr. Cohen is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Cohen of West Bloomfield; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Dena Cohen of Los Angeles; daughter, Stacey Cohen of Chicago; grandchild, Sofia; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Miriam Shenkman; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Arnold (Vicki) Shenkman, Martin (Patti) Shenkman, Elaine Beresh. He was the brother of the late Richard Cohen and the late Ethel Stollman; the son of the late Samuel and the late Ella Cohen. Interment was held at the Adat Shalom Memorial Park Cemetery in Livonia. Mrs. Isayeva was the beloved wife for 52 years of the late Mara Eydelshteyn; loving mother-in-law of the late Svetlana Gordan; dear sister of the late Galina Sigal. KATZ, 94, of West Bloomfield, died March 27, 2011. He was born in Detroit, the first of the three children of Sarah and Izidor Katz. Mr. Katz attended the University of Michigan and Wayne State Law School. As an officer in World War II, he served as a captain in Patton's 3rd Army and was part of the final push into Germany. His last assignment before returning stateside Katz was as head of the Nuremberg motor pool for the Nuremberg War Trials. Upon returning home he joined his father, Izidor, and brother, Wilfred L. Katz, in the fledgling John R. Lumber Company, which later prospered and became a respected member of the great- er Detroit business community. He was a dedicated member of the Rotary Foundation. He participated locally, nationally and internationally in this community service organization and was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship, honoring him as an advocate of the Foundation's goals of world peace and international understanding. Mr. Katz was a member and supporter of B'nai B'rith and Technion and for the past 50 plus years. He was a member of Temple Emanu-El and served on the board and as an officer. For the past 15 years, he was a member of Temple Kol Ami. Mr. Katz is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bernice Katz; sons and daughter- in-law, Bruce and Andrea Katz of West Bloomfield, Steve Katz; grandchildren, Emily Katz and fiance, Chris Magrin, and Carly Katz; sisters-in-law, Sydell Leebove and Toby Berkower; nieces, nephews and loyal friends. He was the devoted son of the late Izidor and the late Sarah Katz; loving brother of the late Wilfred Katz and the late Marilyn Kaufman; the dear brother- in-law of the late Bernice Katz, the late Sam Leebove and the late Dr. Donald M. SELMA KLEINBERG, 75, of Los Alamitos, Calif., died March 12, 2011. She was born in Detroit on June 9, 1935, to Goldie and Samuel Kleinberg. Kleinberg Ms. Kleinberg is survived by her sister, Elaine Wayman (Kleinberg) and many loving friends and relatives. Interment in Cypress, Calif. Contributions may be made to the char- ity of one's choice. GERRY KRAUSE, 70, of San Diego, formerly of West Bloomfield, died March 27, 2011. He had been living and working n San Diego, where he moved with Suzy (Symez), his Krause beloved wife, to be clos- er to his daughters, Amy and Lori Krause, and to enjoy his role of "Papa Gerry" full time. Gerry had a long satisfying career as an insurance agent and financial planner. He was passionate about his work and had an innate need and ability to take care of others. This was evident in his many treasured relationships with people who were both clients and friends for decades. When Gerry wasn't with his family or working he could be found on the squash court. He was an avid player, competitor and enthusiast, who really loved the game and all those who played it with him. Gerry was a loving and supportive brother to his sister, Barbara Krause- Greenberg, and uncle to her son, Charlie Elias, and to Suzy's niece, Jennifer Frazho. He was the best father and friend to his daughter Lori Krause and fiance Brian Jeffries, and daughter Amy Krause and son-in-law Paul Needelman. He was known as "Papa Gerry" to many, but most deeply and specially to his grand- daughters Sophie and Dana Needelman. Although many loved him, he had only one true love above and beyond all others, his first love, his high school sweetheart, the love of his life and wife of almost 50 years, Suzy Krause. The family encourages those who knew and loved Gerry to contribute to the Miracle League of San Diego, where he spent his Saturday mornings on the base- ball field, sharing the love of baseball with some very special kids, with very special needs: Miracle League of San Diego 3525 Del Mar Heights Road, #602, San Diego, CA 92130. ARNOLD LEVY, 84, of West Bloomfield, died April 1, 2011.
