GIFTS KIDDUSH CUPS MENORAHS Davida Segal Richmon Haley was called to the Torah to celebrate her bat mitzvah on Saturday, April 2, at Beth El Synagogue in Durham, N.C. Haley Davida is the daugh- ter of Elyza Richmon and Jeff Spinner Haley and the sister of Avishai Samuel, 15, and Shoshana Sivan, 9. She is the granddaughter of Arlene and Harry Richman, of Omaha, Neb., Mildred and Edward Rosenbaum of West Bloomfield and the late David Spinner. Davida is a seventh-grade student at Smith Middle School in Chapel Hill, N.C. For her mitzvah project, she has been volunteering with Special Olympics of Orange County, helping teens learn to play soccer and basketball. Lexie Isabella Kay will read from the Torah on the occa- sion of her bat mitz- vah at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Saturday, April 9. She is the daughter Kay of Renee and Stuart Kay and the sister of Sammy and Liza. Her proud grand- parents are Gilda and Mark Kopitz and Gladys Kay. She is also the grandchild of the late Louis Kay. Sharing in the simchah will be great-grandmother Eve Kopitz. Lexie is a student at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. She collected recyclable juice boxes, donating the funds to the American Cancer Society, and felt this was a meaningful mitzvah project. Joshua Jacob Solomon, son of Marshall Solomon and Linda Brand, will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday, April 9, at Adat Solomon Shalom Synagogue in Farmington Hills. Sharing in his simchah will be proud grandparents Noreen Solomon and Harry and Barbara Brand as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. Joshua is also the grandson of the late A.B. Solomon, M.D. Joshua attends Novi Middle School. His most meaningful mitzvah project was volunteering at Gleaner's Food Bank in connection with J-SERVE. Marci Erin Welford, daughter of Stacey and Bruce Welford, will celebrate her bat mitzvah at Havdalah services Saturday, April 9, at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield. Her brother Brett and grandparents Joyce and Edward Welford and Arlene and Marvin Gurecki will share in the sim- chah. Marci's late great-grandparents are Lillian and Cecil Welford, Eva and Arnold Weinberger, Molly and Morris Levin and Becky and Morris Gurecki.
