Metro Detroit Hillel
Elects New Officers
Hillel of Metro Detroit, The
Foundation for Jewish Campus
Life, announced its officers for
the 2011-2013 term.
Elaine Driker has been
elected president; she succeeds
Linda Zlotoff.
Driker gradu-
ated from
Wayne State
University
where, years
later, she
created and
directed
Elaine Driker
the Detroit
Orientation
Institute. She has devoted her-
self to communal activities and,
in addition to her involvement
with Hillel of Metropolitan
Detroit, serves on the board
and executive committee of the
Detroit Institute of Arts.
Other officers elected are
vice presidents, Stephanie Adas,
Karen Alpiner and Jeannie
Weiner; treasurer, Al Sasson;
secretary, Gail Langer.
Michael Benghiat, Avery
Goldstein, Zina Kramer, Neil
Satovsky and WSU law student
Ryan Fishman will join the
HMD board, which oversees
Jewish student life on six metro
Detroit college campuses.
Arline Bittker, Arthur Horwitz,
Faye Ullmann Kanter, Sidney
Katz, Joshua Lerner, Gary Snyder
and Linda Zlotoff were re-elect-
ed to serve an additional two
years on the HMD board. They
join mid-term board mem-
bers Lavie Golenberg, Robyn
Lederman, Alyssa McMillan,
Steve Schanes and Brad
Wasserman.

Laker Concert
On Sunday, April 17
Temple Israel in West Bloomfield
will host the Laker Concert with
Todd Herzog, 4 p.m. Sunday, April
17.
Herzog creates soulful, spiritual,
acoustic pop.
