A funeral isn't an ordinary circumstance. That's why we have an extraordinary website. He went on to study horticulture at the University of Florida, where he was a standout diver and swim- mer, having been inducted into the U.F. Swimming Hall of Fame. Swimming was one of his passions, which he continued to enjoy well into his 79th year. A well-rounded career and fam- ily man, Mr. Hartman began his life with Esther Molly Mendelson, his wife of 54 years, when they wed in 1956. Together, they farmed toma- toes until Jerry made his way into the broadcasting industry in both Florida and Puerto Rico. His part- ner in business as in life was Esther Molly. Together, they developed the former tomato farm into what is now Cypress Cove of Jupiter. Their land development and broadcasting pursuits complemented his career as a financial adviser. In the 1970s and '80s, he was recognized as the weekend stock market reporter for WPEC Channel 12 News. His career in finance continued until his retirement in 2007, at which time he became an avid philanthro- pist, supporting the Maltz Theater, Temple Beth Am and Jupiter Medical Center. Family was always a priority for Mr. Hartman. It was his dream that all of his children would someday live in Cypress Cove. He lived to see his dream become a reality. His daughters, Debora Hartman and Eileen Hartman Turenne; and his sons, Herbert Hartman, and the late Michael Hartman, all carried on his legacy in Cypress Cove. He was happiest when surrounded by his family, especially his grand- children, Tamara and Matthew Hartman, Kacy, Jaclyn and Michelle Turenne. He always spoke of how he was blessed to be married to Esther Molly, the love of his life. He was predeceased by his beloved par- ents and sister Marion. He will be greatly missed by his surviving sisters, Bertha Kinner and Isabel Rosenthal, and all those whose lives he touched. A memorial service was held at Temple Beth Am in Jupiter, Fla. Contributions may be made to the Maltz Theater, Temple Beth Am or Hospice. • Preplanning • Grief Resources • Send Condolences • Chapel Tour • Much More Familiarize yourself with all of our offerings from the comfort of your home computer.
