He is the son of Bernard Monica Brockmeyer and Ken Bernard and the younger brother of Maggie. Proud grandparents are Anaruth and Henri Bernard and Richard Brockmeyer. Ben is also the grandson of the late Mary Brockmeyer. Ben is a seventh-grade student at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. For his mitzvah project, he collected return- able bottles and cans and solicited sponsors in the 2010 "Run for Water Project" to raise money and awareness for the Global Water Action program, which supports access to fresh drink- ing water in Africa. Jacob Ross Galperin, son of Jodi and Robert Galperin and brother of Jordan, will be called to the bimah to read from the Torah on the occasion of his Galperin bar mitzvah Friday, March 25, at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield. His proud grandparents are Susan and Gary Weinberg and Marlene and Frederick Galperin. Jacob attends Geisler Middle School in Commerce Township. He felt vol- unteering at Yad Ezra in Berkley was the most meaningful of his mitzvah projects. Chase is a student at Derby Middle School in Birmingham. He felt it was especially meaningful to make a contribution to the Heart Research Institute at Cleveland Clinic as one of his mitzvah projects. Sharing in his simchah will be his brother Max, sister Madeline, grand- mother Sarah Goldfaden, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Alec is also the grandson of the late Louis Goldfaden and the late Arthur and Marion Sandberg. He is a seventh-grader at Orchard Lake Middle School in West Bloomfield. Alec's most meaningful mitzvah project was volunteering in the Miracle League through the West Bloomfield-based Friendship Circle. Caroline Peterson Sucher will read from the Torah as she cel- ebrates her bat mitz- vah at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Saturday, March 26. She is the daughter of Kristen and Jonathan Sucher Sucher. Her siblings, Cole and Catherine, and her proud grandparents Mary and Ronald Peterson and Sharon and Marvin Sucher will share in the joy of the simchah. Caroline is a student at Orchard Lake Middle School in West Bloomfield. She participated in a community gar- dening project through Greening of Detroit and felt this was an important mitzvah project.
