Lack Of Outrage Cited Over Kudos To Terrorist Who Killed 37
New York (JTA) — Presidents Conference leader Malcolm Hoenlein slammed govern-
ments, including the Obama administration, for not denouncing the naming of a square
in a West Bank town after a terrorist.
If governments, even our own, do not stand up:' then the Jewish
ar
people must "make our voices heard" and "demand accountability
and consequences',' Hoenlein, the executive vice president of the
-r-t;f:-
Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations,
said last week in New York at a memorial service for the parents
and three children of the Fogel family who were murdered March
11 in the West Bank settlement of Raman
The naming of the square, which took place just two days after
the murders, drew a relatively muted response from the White
Malcolm
House — relatively low-level officials said they were seeking clarifi-
Hoenlein
cation on the matter and denounced incitement by "all parties:'
The Obama administration on March 16 had called "disturbing"
reports that Palestinian Authority officials attended the renaming of the square for a
terrorist, Dalal Mughrabi, who was involved in killing 37 Israelis.

Israel Strikes Back
At Hamas Gunners
Jerusalem (JTA) — Israeli airstrikes hit a
Hamas compound in the central Gaza Strip,
reportedly killing at least two Palestinians.
The last week was in response to a rocket
fired on the western Negev town of Sderot,
which caused no damage or injuries.
Over the weekend, Israeli tanks crossed
the border into Gaza and fired at mortar
positions which had fired 60 shells into
Israel.

Palin Visits Western Wall,
Meets With Israeli Leaders
Washington (JTA) — Sarah Palin, who is
believed to be considering a U.S. presiden-
tial run in 2012, visited Israel this week.
The former Alaska governor and
Republican vice presidential nominee in
2008 stopped in Israel for two days on her
way back to the United States from a speech
she is giving a business group in India.
Palin's itinerary included meetings with
the country's leaders, including Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and visiting
Christian holy sites.
On Sunday, she visited the Western Wall
in Jerusalem accompa-
nied by Likud Knesset
Member Danny Danon
and Kotel Rabbi Shmuel
Rabinovich.
"As the world con-
fronts sweeping changes
and new realities, I look
forward to meeting
Sarah Patin
with Prime Minister
Netanyahu to discuss the key issues facing
his country, our ally Israel;' Patin told CNN.
Other GOP hopefuls, including former
Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, former
Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and
Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour who have
made recent visits to Israel.

Buy-cott Israel
To Foil Boycott
March 30 has been targeted by the
anti-Israel BDS (Boycott Divestment
Sanctions) campaign as a day to boycott
Israeli-made products. The plan calls for
anti-Israel protesters to stand outside
stores and ask shoppers not to buy Israeli
products.
StandWithUs, a California-based pro-
Israel group, is urging people to counter
the boycott by buying Israeli-made prod-
ucts on March 30.
"We are telling people to go to their
local stores, request the exact Israeli
products being targeted and buy
them out:' said StandWithUs CEO Roz
Rothstein. "Let store managers know they
should keep Israeli products well stocked
on the shelves."
For a list of Israeli products and
stores that sell them, go to www.
BuylsraeliGoods.org, a site of the
American-Israel Chamber of Commerce,
which is partnering with StandWithUs
on this effort.

German Organizations
Fighting Israel Boycott
Berlin (JTA) — Pro-Israel and Jewish
organizations in Bremen are fighting
back against a local group that used
images of bloody oranges to call for a
boycott of Israeli products.
Jewish leaders, the interfaith German-
Israel Society, Christian-Jewish Society
and Friends of Israel in Bremen are pro-.
posing to work with local mainstream
political and religious leaders to take a
stand against the Bremen Peace Forum
and its political agenda. The Peace Forum
called for a boycott of Israeli products as
a protest against Israeli settlement poli-
cies.
