READER MINI REVIEW
... "My wife Sharon and I
dined out at a fine spot in
Troy, Loccino's Italian Grill,
where the Palm used to be.
The interior is beautiful and the food
and service outstanding. We enjoyed the
large menu with its unique steaks, veal,
chicken and seafood dishes at moderate
prices. Sharon had a delicious eggplant
parmesan, and I had a buttery tender
filet mignon. We shared both and enjoyed
every bite while finding the setting to be
very romantic. We also enjoyed the deli-
cious desserts" ... Dennis Green.

HER ENTRY WAS so spicy hot the
judges were lucky they had tongues left
after gulping down plenty of water at
the recent Chili Cookoff by Brotherhood
of Temple Emanu-El in Oak Park ... But
next year Muriel "Murt" Sherbow, Bud's
frau, will look at the label to make sure
the bottle doesn't contain extra spicy stuff
along with measuring carefully instead of
pouring at will ... Judge's winner of the 10
entries was Marl Schindler and audience
choice was the chili by David Hart and his
son Mitchell ... Harvey Hurwitz, president
of the Brotherhood, was chairman of the
event, with chili judging by writer/journal-
ist Jack Lessenberry, professor of journal-
ism at Wayne State U.; Jerry Naftaly, mayor
of Oak Park; and myself.
