espite steady snowfall and icy streets, more than 175 people attended
Yad Ezra's 6th annual "Ante Up for Hunger" fundraiser March 5 at the
kosher food pantry in Berkley.
Bingo, called by Brad "Bubba" Urdan of West Bloomfield, drew a lively crowd
on one side of the warehouse, while an intense Texas Hold 'Em tournament kept
players and dealers busy on the other side. An array of refreshments and a silent
auction drew attention in between.
Chris Hulen of Huntington Woods won the poker tournament, earning a
$500 gift certificate from Tapper's Diamonds & Fine Jewelry plus a night at the
Townsend Hotel in Birmginham.
The evening raised $43,000 for Yad Ezra, which assists more than 1,600 fami-
lies each month.
Co-chairs for the evening were Nancy Kleinfeldt and Amy Schlussel, both of
Huntington Woods.

Look for more photos from the event in April's Red Thread magazine.
