JVS Women To Work

N

early 300 people gathered
at JVS's third annual Trade
Secrets fundraiser Feb. 16 at
the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham to
show their support for the JVS Women
to Work Program. Hadas Bernard, Elaine
Fieldman, Beth Gotthelf and Gwen Weiner
co-chaired the event, which raised more
than $100,000.
Highlights of the evening included a
speech by Cynthia Pasky, president and
CEO of Strategic Staffing Solutions, who
described how she began working at age

15 to support her family. The IT company
she founded in 1990 had over $200 mil-
lion in sales last year.
Fox 2 reporter and Jewish News col-
umnist Robin Schwartz was master of
ceremonies.
The JVS Women to Work program
educates women who have been out of
the workforce and must find immediate
employment after life-changing events,
such as the unemployment of their
spouse, divorce, new financial need or the
death or disability of their spouse.
