they were at the church, they were at
the cemetery. They were there for my
family, talking to my mom and dad the
entire time, hugging them and helping
them live through the unthinkable.
And it did not end there. Bob and
Beth always come to my home for
a visit when my parents come to
Michigan from Pittsburgh. They are
there for young Bella's birthdays; and
they have seen Nicole and Chris grow
from teenagers to strong adults.
He has always been there as my

friend.
So, yes, each week we met on

people know Bob Sklar in that vein, as
the Jewish News editor, as the voice of
the community.
But I also know him as a friend, as
a good man that cares deeply about
people, children and families.
