CARL ALTMAN, 88, of Boca Raton, Fla.,
formerly of Detroit, passed away on Feb.
19, 2011.
He was the co-owner of Harry Altman
and Sons Bar and Restaurant Supplies
and Equipment. An avid golfer and bridge
player, he enjoyed his retirement in Florida
with his wife of 61 years.
He is survived by his wife, Joslyn (Jo)
Altman of Boca Raton; children, Elli
Altman of West Bloomfield and Chuck
Altman of Royal Oak; grandchildren,
Brian and Kristin Kloc and David Kloc
of Los Angeles; sister and brother-in-law,
DorrAnn and Allan Rosenberg of West
Bloomfield.
Mr. Altman was the son of the late
Harry and Rose Altman.
HERMAN ASHMAN, 96, of Sun City
West, Ariz., died Feb. 11, 2011.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandra
Ribiat of Southfield, Beverly Peters of Sun
City West; grandchildren, Miriam and
Ryan Baxter, Lisa and Len Osvatic, Billy
Ribiat, Michael Peters, Michelle Peters
and Guy Spivack; great-grandchildren,
A.J. Baxter, Brendan Baxter, Evan Baxter,
Hailey Osvatic, Jack Osvatic.
Mr. Ashman was the beloved husband
for 58 years of the late Rose Ashman; dear
brother of the late Jack Ashman, the late
Frank Ashman; devoted son of the late
Celia and the late Abe Ashman.

ANN BARNETT, 92, of Southfield, died
Feb. 19, 2011. She was a teacher and social
worker.
Mrs. Barnett is survived by her
daughters, Carolyn Barnett-Goldstein of
Southfield, Judith Barnett of Maryland,
Dr. Marjorie Barnett of Ann Arbor; son,
Lawrence Barnett of Southfield; grand-
children, Amy Goldstein, Ari Goldstein,
Miriam Vogel, Noah Peters and Jonathan
Peters; great-grandchildren, Molly, Zoe and
Victoria; niece, Peggy Barnett Rosenzweig;
cousins, Philip and Estelle Elkus.
She was the beloved wife of the late Dr.
Morton Barnett.

ANNE BARRON, 97, of Southfield, died
Feb. 11, 2011.
She is survived by her sister, Florence
Barron; sister-in-law, Felicia Barron; niec-
es, nephews and cousins.
Miss Barron was the dear sister of
the late William Barron, the late Lillian
Barron, the late Dorothy Raider.

EDWARD BURTON, 90, of Bloomfield
Hills, died Feb. 15, 2011.
He is survived by his daughters and
sons-in-law, Ann and Marc Fishman of
Bloomfield Hills, Lori Burton-Kassin
and Joe Kassin of Utica; grandchildren,
Zachary and Ryan Fishman, Alex and
Amanda Accica.
Mr. Burton was the beloved husband of
the late Olga Burton and the late Barbara
Burton. His entire family perished in the
Holocaust.
Interment at Workmen's Circle
Cemetery in Mt. Clemens. Contributions

IRENE WILLIS
CITRON, 89, of West
Bloomfield, died Feb. 13,
2011. This was one day
short of Valentine's Day
and what would have
been her beloved, late-
husband Arnold's 93rd
Citron
birthday.
Above all, she was a
devoted wife and mother. With her chil-
dren living out of town, she traveled to
New York, so she could cook them tradi-
tional holiday meals. For many years, she
and Arnold kept in touch with everyone
around the country with funny Polaroid
postcards of themselves in costume, which
they mailed regularly.
Irene was known for her stylish ball-
room dancing with Arnold, her dear
husband of 66 adventurous years, her
fabulous dinner parties and especially her
joie de vivre. She was a member of the
Pleasant Lake Club and the Birmingham
Temple. She can never be replaced.
Mrs. Citron is survived by the children
she took such pride in, Monique (Jed)
Stampleman, Dr. Marc (Chris) Citron, and
Dr. Joanne Burgio, as well as her trea-
sured grandchildren, Michael Stock, Leah
(David) Dembitzer, Evan (Brittany) Citron,
Adam Citron, 1st. Lt. David Burgio, Grace
Burgio, and great-grandchildren, Lucas and

Noah Dembitzer, her cousins, and many
nieces and nephews -- all of whom
clamored for the beautifully decorated
sucker cookies she baked on a stick.
She was beloved big sister to Ann Willis
Benderoff and sister in law to Phil Garber.
She will also be sorely missed by her
many, many, adoring, lifelong friends.
Mrs. Citron was the first daughter of
the late Rachel and the late Phillip Willis;
sister of the late Nate Willis and the late
Esther Fealk; sister-in-law of the late Rose
Willis, the late Herbert Fealk, the late Dr.
Fred Benderoff and the late Esther Garber.
A memorial for Irene is planned this

FREDA FORMAN, 81, of Redford, died
Feb. 17, 2011.
She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Adrianne and Michael Zaroff of
Howell; son, Harvey Forman of Washington;
brother and sister-in-Iaw, Alvin and Lillian
Stern of Florida; grandchildren, Erica (Kris)
Womack, Howard Forman; great-grandchil-
dren, Logan and Faith.
Mrs. Forman was the beloved wife of
the late Saul Forman.

BERNARD GLASER,
81, of West Bloomfield,
died Feb. 20, 2011.
He was an IRS agent
for more than 30 years;
prior to that, he was
a cost analyst for the
Chrysler Corporation for
Glaser
more than 10 years.
Mr. Glaser is sur-
vived by his wife of almost 52 years, Irma
Glaser; children, Rena Glaser and Ronald
Glaser; sister, Gloria Glaser of Southfield;
brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and
Frances Glaser; brother-in-law, Dr. Saul
Margules; nieces and nephews, Steven
and Beth Silver; their children, Michael
and Marisa, Chuck Silver, Howard Silver,
Dr. Daniel Margules, Rachel Margules and
Steve Balan and their son Josh.
Mr. Glaser was the cherished brother of
the late Beverly Beckerman; dear brother-
in-law of the late Lenamyra Margules and
the late Esther Saulson; proud uncle of the
late Roy Margules.

DR. JOEL GOULDING, 83, of West
Bloomfield, died Feb. 14, 2011.
An Army Veteran of World War II
and an Air Force veteran of the Korean
Conflict, Dr. Goulding became a clinical
psychologist in private practice.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Goulding;
son, Aden Goulding of Westland; daughter
and son-in-law, Laurel Halbany and Tom
Doehne of Novato, Calif.; sister, Libby
Halbany of West Bloomfield; grandchil-
dren, Vivian Halbany, Miriam Halbany,
