Jewish Family Service (JFS) of Metropolitan Detroit is seeking a talented, experienced, and entrepreneurial Chief
Executive Officer, who excels in strategic and financial planning and management and understands a social service
environment, to lead a client/community-centric agency to the next level. JFS is a modern and comprehensive social
service provider, annually serving approximately 12,000 individuals and families throughout metropolitan Detroit.

The CEO must be able to work well with a dynamic and team-oriented staff, lay leadership, and a cadre of volunteers to
fulfill the agency's mission. The CEO is accountable to and works closely with numerous stakeholders, including the JFS
Board of Directors, the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, various agencies, government bodies and local/national
organizations.

Job Requirements
Highest standards of ethics, credibility and personal integrity.
Significant and extensive senior management experience in a social service or community agency, or equivalent
not-for-profit or for-profit related organization.
Demonstrated commitment to and passion for communal services.
Bachelor's degree (advanced degree, Master's level or above, preferred) in a relevant field. Business background,
innovative marketing experience, and information technology/social media knowledge are a plus.
Deep understanding of Jewish values and culture.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain the agency's financial integrity through fiscal oversight.
Ability to articulate a vision for the agency and maintain and encourage an ongoing process of strategic thinking and
implementation.

Ability to manage and supervise a growing and diverse team-oriented staff and identify and retain talented existing and as
needed, new staff.
Ability to work collaboratively with both the secular and non-secular community.
Comfort and experience in soliciting public/private funding to benefit the agency.

Duties and Responsibilities

Plans for and protects the financial resources of the agency.
Works closely with private, governmental and interfaith funding sources, referral sources, sponsoring groups, and related
service agencies.
Identifies actual and anticipated community service needs.
Addresses changing community and professional trends and needs.
Maintains and develops staff.
Oversees all agency operations.
Assures compliance with legal and accreditation requirements.
Serves as the primary spokesperson for the agency.
Works closely with a participatory and active Board of Directors and engages with the Board in strategic planning.
Helps identify potential new Board members and assists with Board development.
Directly supervises the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Program Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Development
Officer and Executive Assistant.
