Aids Summer In The City
Temple Israel in West Bloomfield
will host a concert to support
Summer in the City and the beauti-
fication of Detroit 7 p.m. Saturday,
March 5.
Featured are the bands Jam
Society, Live the Dash, Teen T'Fillah
Team, Yom Sheini, Foster Brooks
and many others.
In addition, there will be a fun-
draising raffle and gift certificate
prizes.
Admission is $18 for adults, $10
for children.

Scotty Felsenfeld of
Commerce Township, who is
majoring in film, writing and
television production at Wayne
State University in Detroit,
spent the summer in Grand
Rapids. He auditioned to be,
and was selected as, a stand-in
for actor Jesse Eisenberg in a
movie titled Thirty Minutes or
Less. The film, produced by Ben
Stiller, will be released next
summer. Scotty is the son of Dr.
Joel and Sandi Felsenfeld.

Detroit Symphony Orchestra
Music Director Leonard
Slatkin received an honorary
doctorate of fine arts from
Michigan State during the
university's December com-
mencement ceremonies. Slatkin
holds a deep commitment to
the advancement of arts educa-
tion among audiences of all
ages, which is exemplified by
his numerous activities within
the MSU musical community.
He has hosted new music read-
ings, in which the DSO has
performed and Slatkin has cri-
tiqued pieces by MSU composi-
tion students.

Samantha Sinai of Huntington
Woods was inducted into the
Dayton C. Miller Honor Society
at Baldwin-Wallace College in
Berea, Ohio. Sinai is a junior.
