The Bloomfield Hills-based philan-
thropist said it has been her privilege to
live in three worlds: the shtetl in Poland;
being in Palestine as it emerged following
World War II as the State of Israel; and her
years in the U.S. as a corporate leader in
Michigan.
For the last 59 years, Newman has lived
in, and made an impact on the Jewish com-
