Krosnick Jewish National Fund (JNF) has named for- mer Detrioiter Rick Krosnick its chief devel- opment officer (COO). Krosnick is a 1993 grad- uate of Oak Park High School. He is the son of Morton Krosnick and the late Diane Krosnick of Southfield. Krosnick began his Jewish service career 18 years ago as the Young Adult Division director of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit. In 1993, he relocated to Chicago to work for the United Jewish Appeal, then as an assistant vice president of campaign with the Jewish United Fund of Chicago. Krosnick joined JNF in 1999 as Midwest zone director to oversee the campaign in 15 states. In 2006, he was added to the execu- tive management committee as national campaign coordinator. He developed and led one of JNF's most successful annual missions, its President's Mission for $10,000 annual givers. Nancy Kaufman, speech-language pathologist and direc- tor of the Kaufman Children's Center for Speech, Language, Sensory-Motor & Social Connections Inc. in West Bloomfield, has been honored with the 2011 Distinguished Service Award by the Michigan Speech-Language-Hearing Association (MSHA). Since 1979, Kaufman has worked to help children to become effective vocal communicators and is known worldwide for her expertise in the area of childhood apraxia of speech and other speech sound disorders. She has spent the past 30 years developing her method, known as the Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol (K-SLP), as well as many products that are now used through- out the United States, Canada, England, Ireland, China and Australia.
