15, at the Birmingham Community
House, 380 S. Bates.
Krista Tippett, author of Speaking
of Faith and Einstein's God and host of
On Being, an American Public Media
radio program based on the questions
of humanity and ancient traditions of
the human spirit, will be leading a dis-
cussion with Sylvia Boorstein, author
of Happiness Is an Inside Job.
Boorstein brings together Jewish
tradition and thought with a life-
long Buddhist practice. She is a co-
founder of the Spirit Rock Meditation
Center in Woodacre, Calif.
The event is co-sponsored by
Metro Parent magazine and WDET
(101.9 FM), Wayne State University's
National Public Radio station in
Detroit.
General admission is $24 per per-

Rabbi Joseph Klein of Temple Emanu-
El in Oak Park will teach "Basic
Concepts of Judaism:' a four-week
course on: Covenant and "Chosen
People"; God's Omnipotence, Evil
and Free Will; Sin, Atonement, and
Punishment; Redemption, Afterlife
and the Messiah.
The class will meet 7:30-9 p.m.
Thursdays, March 3-24. Members:
$25/single and $30/couple; non-

The Jewish Gay Network of Michigan
is compiling resources for a Gay/
Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender guide,
