Eastern Orthodox,
Muslim and Jewish

Rabbi Goldberg is the founder and
national director of Kids Kicking
Cancer and a clinical assistant pro-
fessor of pediatrics at Wayne State
University School of Medicine in
Detroit.

He is rabbi emeritus at Young Israel
of Southfield, where he served as
rabbi for more than 20 years.
Rabbi Goldberg will present two
lectures Feb. 11 in Beth El's Maas
Chapel. His topic at 9:30 a.m. will be
"The Power of Purpose in Healing."
After a brief intermission, he will
speak again at 10:45 a.m., discussing
"The Breath Brake: Reaching Up, Out
and In." There is no charge and the
community is welcome.
A light lunch will be available at
noon following the lectures. Charge

Student PSA Contest
The League of Women Voters
Oakland Area is challenging
Oakland County high school stu-
dents to create a Public Service
Announcement (PSA) conserving
energy. The tag line: What Can 'I'
Do? The Green Power of One.
There is a cash prize for the win-
ning entry in each category: TV, radio
and essay. Students may use graph-
ics, audio, visual and other media.

Travel With Technion
Franklin residents Scott and Susan
Leemaster, the national chairs for the
upcoming American Technion Society
(ATS) Mission, will lead the trip May
29-June10.
This year's mission, titled "Illumination
and Innovation',' will take in Paris and
Israel and the Technion-Israel Institute
of Technology — the country's leading
science and technology university
"We're going to do a lot of educational
things',' says Susan. "But we will also go
to chateaus, exciting museums, shopping
districts, wonderful restaurants and will
meet people that you would not be able
to interact with if you were on your own:'
"We'll see how the Technion has
played the fundamental role in the devel-
opment of the high-tech industry in
Israel and is behind all of the phenom-
ena now known as the startup nation','
says Scott.
ATS is offering a pre-mission trip to
Normandy one week before D-Day, from
May 27-30, where participants can pay
tribute to the American soldiers who
fought at Omaha and Utah Beaches.

Shir Tikvah Fund Raiser
Congregation Shir Tikvah in Troy will
feature the North American premiere
of the Marc Camoletti farce Ding Dong
at a fund-raising evening at 6 p.m.
March 19, at Meadow Brook Theatre
on the Oakland University campus in
Rochester. The comedy is the sequel to
Boeing Boeing.
