Wednesday, Feb. 2,
at the University
of Michigan, his second address in
Michigan in less than a year.
The lecture is sponsored by U-M's
Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. It
will be at the Michigan League Ballroom
at 911 N. University in Ann Arbor.
Cantor is the second-highest rank-
ing member of the U.S. House behind
Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio.

Autism: The Musical
In recognition of Jewish Disability
Awareness Month, Federation's Alliance
for Jewish Education's Opening the
Doors Program will present Elaine Hall,
founder of the Miracle Project, the sub-
ject of the HBO Emmy award-winning
documentary, Autism: The Musical.
Hall will present "Seven Keys to
Unlock Autism" and will provide prac-
tical strategies for parents and teachers
working with children with autism.
She will share her story in raising her
adopted autistic son.
The event is Sunday, Feb. 13, at Adat
Shalom Synagogue. Hall will speak at
1:30 p.m. Movie screening is at 2:15
p.m. An informal question-and-answer
session will follow.
Registration is $5 per person. Social
workers and/or professionals seeking
2.0 CEU hours must follow registration
requirements. Fee: $10.

Chabad will conduct the course
on six Sundays beginning Feb. 6
at the Sara and Morris Tugman
Bais Chabad Torah Center in West
Bloomfield, and on six Thursdays,
beginning Feb. 10, at the Max
M. Fisher Federation Building in
Bloomfield Township.
The course is designed for people
at all levels of Jewish knowledge.

grounds with new life skills based
on traditional Torah and Kaballah
thought, thereby enabling them to

Educational Loan service and other
financial aid options for college

FJA - Akiva Games
The Frankel Jewish Academy and
Yeshivat Akiva boys and girls bas-
ketball teams will play back-to-back
games starting 7:40 p.m. Saturday,
Feb. 5.
The games will be played in the
Jewish Community Center gym in West
Bloomfield, starting with the girls. A
brief Havdalah service will take place
just prior to tipoff.
Admission is $5 for adults and
non-students of West Bloomfield-
based FJA and Southfield-based
Akiva. A portion of the proceeds will
be donated to Israel's reforestation
efforts after the Carmel forest fire.
Jerusalem Pizza will be open in the
JCC Saturday evening and will also
donate a portion of its revenue.
