Paradise Valley is back, if only in name,
but Detroit Seafood Market is hopeful
of being the beginning of another great
name to remember.
THE REMODELING COMES next ...
But in the meantime, a new menu has
given Village Palace, Orchard Lake Road,
north of Pontiac Trail, Orchard Lake
Village, another kind of different look ...
It was conceived by operators/managers
Angelo Georgizas and Robert Lukaj and
gives folks good feelings to see the large
bevy of breakfast, lunch and dinners at
such low prices ... This is the first time
since opened years ago as Village Place
that the restaurant has a full menu to go
with credit card acceptance ... Many of
them are items that Angelo used to serve
when he had Angelo's Bistro ... Tommy
Salad, Mediterranean Salad, Chicken
Piccata, Chicken Marsala, Lamb Shank,
etc. ... The remodeling changeover com-
ing at Village Palace has met with village

approval and permits will soon allow work
to be done in the restaurant renovation.
MAIL DEPT. ... "My wife, Rose, and I
dined at Outback Steak House on Orchard
Lake Road in West Bloomfield, and after
waiting over 30 minutes for my food, Ryan
the manager, came to our table with a
straight face and said that the Alice Chicken
which I ordered 'had died: He suggested
that I could choose from several other
choices. I asked to have the same selec-
tion as my wife, Chicken Barbecue. To my
surprise, moments later came my Alice
Chicken with a steaming delicious baked
potato and to top it off we were served a
complimentary plate of chicken quesadilla
appetizers" ... Jerry Light.
THE DEALERSHIP ON Telegraph
and Southfield has a no-smoking policy,
so nobody had a match or lighter to fire
up the one candle on Mary Tamaroff's
85th birthday cake in his Honda show-
room.
Grandson Eric Frehsee, son of Mary
and Claire's daughter and son-in-law,
Karen and Howard Frehsee, to the rescue,
running out and finding an old book of
matches in his car ... Mary shook the
universe as he gathered air as if a mightly
hurricane roared, took a superhuman
deep breath and with massive earth-
shattering gusto blew out that poor lonely
little candle ... Both Eric and Ryan, son
of Mary and Claire's son, Jeffrey and
daughter-in-law Sandi, work with grandpa
at the dealership and joyously joined in
the laughter ... as a tired but thrilled
Mary Tamaroff smiled at his magnificent
accomplishment.
CONGRATS ... To Jennie Berg on her
