A Top Workplace

JARC earns high honors in Free Press survey.

ARC is earning praise as one
of Michigan's greatest places to
work. The Farmington Hills-
based organization, serving people with
disabilities and their families, was No. 3
on the list of mid-size companies in the
Detroit Free Press/Workplace Dynamics
2010 Top Workplaces survey.
The third annual Top Workplaces –
competition drew companies employ-
ing a total of nearly 132,000 workers in
Michigan. WorkplaceDynamics of Exton,
Pa., designed and conducted the survey.
Based on workplace factors that are
important to employees, JARC distin-
guished itself as placing first among all
entrants in its category as an "organiza-
tion (that) operates by strong values
and ethics?' It also ranked first in its
category for its employees feeling "well-

j

informed about
important deci-
sions" and feeling
"genuinely appre-
ciated?'
JARC was one
of 105 companies
and nonprofit
organizations in
the state — and
the only represen- Rick Loewenstein
tative from the
Jewish community
to place in the top
tier — honored on Nov. 11 during a
breakfast ceremony at Laurel Manor
Banquet & Conference Center in Livonia.
"At a time when companies are forced
to do more with less, this award is a
great recognition of the commitment

and dedication of
our outstanding
employees to the
people JARC serves:'
said CEO Rick
Loewenstein. "We
are honored by this
communitywide
award. And we will
continue be a top
Lisa Korotkin
workplace
in the
Rothberger
months and years
ahead."
"It's the employ-
ees that are out in the field who carry
out JARC's mission every day and
on every shift:' added Lisa Korotkin
Rothberger, director of human resourc-
es. "We have done anything we can
think of to show our employees how

much they mean to JARC and how much
we appreciate the work they do. I am so
grateful to work for such a wonderful
and dynamic organization."
Earlier this year, JARC was hon-
ored for the fifth consecutive year as
one of Metro Detroit's "101 Best and
Brightest Companies To Work For" by
the Michigan Business & Professional
Association. That award recognized
JARC as one of the best employers in
the Detroit area from the standpoint of
employee attraction, retention and sat-
isfaction.
JARC is a Michigan-based nonprofit
that serves more than 600 people with
disabilities and their families in a vari-
ety of ways, from housing to in-home
respite care, to advocacy to educating
the community.
