Starkman, 16, said, "I foresee that
my participation in BSP will help
me to develop a new perspec-
tive on the leadership skills I've
acquired through years of school.
I'm so excited for the program to
begin, to meet and work with the
other teens, and to apply the tal-
ents that we've each already mas-
tered to bigger and better things."
Siegal said, "Our hope is that
they will see the opportunities
that this community offers and
choose to stay in Detroit. Also, our
goal is that these teens will tell
their peers what they have learned
and go with their friends to a
more diverse group of places in
the community. We owe it to them
to open their eyes to what else the
city has to offer them."
