to the bimah as a bar
mitzvah. He is the son

of Kathy Gilbert and
Tim Rowlands. His
proud grandparents are Anita and Dr.
David Lieberman.
Adam attends O.E. Dunckel Middle
School in Farmington Hills. He orga-
nized a road rally fundraiser for neuro-
fibromatosis and felt this was a mean-
ingful mitzvah project.

Wasserman (Rachel
Shoshanah) will be
called to the Torah
as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 27,
at Adat Shalom
Synagogue in
Wasserman
Farmington Hills.
She is the daughter of
Marcy Wasserman and Brad Wasserman
and the sister of Daniel and Scott. Proud
grandparents are Beverly and Ralph
Woronoff, Audrey and Jack Chase, and
Larry and Bobbie Wasserman.
Rachel attends Orchard Lake Middle
School in West Bloomfield. Among her
various mitzvah projects, she enjoyed
helping to plan a fundraising dance-
a-thon with Joe's Crew to raise money
for Kids Kicking Cancer. Rachel is
twinning her bat mitzvah with a young
victim of the Holocaust, Rachel Schoen,
who didn't have the opportunity to have
a bat mitzvah.

bat mitzvah on Friday,
Nov. 26, at Temple
Emanu-El in Oak
Park. She is the loving
daughter of Martin
Weinberg
and Suzanne, younger
sister of Lauren and
granddaughter of Evelyn Weinberg.
Jordyn is also the granddaughter of the
late David Weinberg, and Abraham and
Helen Holtz.
Jordyn is a student at Norup
International School in Oak Park. Her
most meaningful mitzvah project was
organizing local bake sales to benefit
Cookies for Kids' Cancer, an organization
devoted to pediatric cancer research.

Gabriel Horwitz were recently mar-
ried at Congregation Shaarey Zedek
in Southfield. Rabbi Joseph Krakoff of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek officiated.
Offering Sheva Brachot under the chuppah
were Daniel Hamburger, Paul Hamburger,
Dr. Leonard Horwitz, Morton Horwitz,
David Jankelovitz, Bernie Lichter and Joseph
Tischler. Offering Sheva Brachot after Birkat
Hamazon were Dr. Jeffrey Devries, Aaron
Hamburger, Rabbi Pinchas Herman, Alan
Jankelovitz, Jeffrey Levinson, Larry Traison
and Dr. Leon Zacharowicz.
The bride is the daughter of Eva and Sheldon Hamburger of Raleigh, N. C., and
Stuart Jankelovitz and Dr. Terri Orbuch of West Bloomfield. The groom is the son
of Gina and Arthur Horwitz of West Bloomfield.
Erica Jankelovitz, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids
included Stephanie Horwitz, Abigail Jankelovitz, Jillian Rubin, Jaclyn Tate, Jennifer
Hemberg and Christina Valliantos.
Daniel Horwitz, brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen included
Adam Baruch, Michael Goldstein, Guy Hamburger, Elliot Jankelovitz, Joshua
Jankelovitz, Sander Rubin, David Sallen and Tim Sadykhov.
Also participating in the ceremony were grandparents Hilda (Joel) Hamburger,
Sally and Morton Horwitz, Shaynee and David Jankelovitz, Rosa (Abraham)
Lichter, Joyce and Dr. Martin Orbuch and Berta and Philip Wesler.
The couple reside in Ann Arbor. Sheri teaches psychology and A.P. psychology at
West Bloomfield High School and Adam is a research assistant at the University of
Michigan Depression Center in Aim Arbor.
