Lasday's recent professional
accomplishments include:
• Consultant with PELIE
(Partnership for Effective
Learning and Innovative
Education) where he helped
PELIE evaluate and develop its
strategy for substantially improv-
ing complementary Jewish educa-
tion in the United States.
• Executive director for the
Coalition for the Advancement of
Jewish Education (CAJE) where
he successfully attracted younger
members, built new coalitions,
introduced a new web-based
membership network (CAJEnet)
and greater use of technology, and
implemented the largest CAJE
conference in seven years.
• Executive vice president of
St. Louis' Central Agency for
Jewish Education, where he
worked closely with Jewish fed-
eration, lay leaders, rabbis and
Jewish educators to improve and
sustain Jewish education in St.
Louis. Accomplishments included
establishing an Israel Experience
Center, Teacher Certification
Program, and Professional
Development Grants program.

about the desirability of our com-
munity and our Federation that
we were able to attract one of the
top Jewish education experts in
the country:' said Scott Kaufman,
chief executive officer, Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit.
"We are all looking forward to
Jeff and his Alliance team to build
on the great foundation of Jewish
life and learning that is one of the
great assets of our community."
Over the course of his career,
Lasday has served as found-
ing director of Columbus'
Commission on Jewish Education
and assistant executive director
for the Milwaukee Association for
Jewish Education.
He earned his bachelor of sci-
ence degree in psychology and
Judaic studies from the University
of Pittsburgh and an Ed.M. from
Harvard Graduate School of
Education.
He is a graduate of the Senior
Educators Fellowship Program
in Israel at Hebrew University's
Melton Center for Jewish
Education in the Diaspora.
Lasday and his wife, Lori, have
two children. ❑
