Jeffrey Lasday

effrey Lasday has
been named direc-
tor of the Alliance for
Jewish Education by the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit.
He succeeds Rabbi Judah
Isaacs who was named director
of sustainability in day school
education for the Board of Jewish
Education of Greater New York.
Federation's Alliance for Jewish
Education ensures that the com-
munity has access to the highest-
quality Jewish education and
identity formation services to the
largest possible number of people
throughout their lives. It provides
educational programs, identity
development, planning, advocacy
and direct services to various
constituencies, including syna-
gogues, schools, and educators.
"Lasday is a highly accom-
plished professional with local
and national Jewish communal
leadership experience. He is a
results-oriented decisive leader,
with proven success in strategic
thinking, problem solving, coali-
tion building and implementing
change," said Karen Alpiner, co-
chair of Federation's Alliance for
Jewish Education. "He will con-
tinue to serve as a change agent,
repositioning our organization
to strive for excellence in Jewish
education!'
