Meals On Wheels

Kosher Meals on Wheels provides two kosher
meals five days a week to those in the com-
munity who are unable to provide for them-
selves or who have no one to assist them
with meal preparation.
Meals are prepared and delivered from the
kitchen of Morrison Senior Living, located in
the Jewish Senior Life Prentis Apartments in
Oak Park. The kitchen is under the supervi-
sion of the Council of Orthodox Rabbis of
Greater Detroit.
The program is funded by the National
Council of Jewish Women Greater Detroit
Section, with help from the Area Agency on
Aging 1-B and the Mandell L. and Madeleine
H. Berman Foundation. Jewish Family
Service provides the intake and casework
services.
Coordinator Richard Emmer said the
program is always looking for clients, and
volunteers to pack and deliver the meals.

Banishing Bullying

The 29th Annual Alicia Joy Techner
Memorial Parenting Conference and Temple
Israel present author SuEllen Fried 7:30

Bloomfield.
Fried is an advocate for reducing the cru-
elty of children to each other. She believes
that bullying is a form of child abuse — peer
abuse. She is an international speaker on
child abuse, bullying and cyber bullying.
In her talk, she will incorporate moral and
ethical principles of Judaism to give strate-
gies, understanding and ideas for intervening
and preventing bullying.
The event is part of the 14th annual Temple
Israel Book Fair, Dec. 5-9. For information,

Conservation PSA Contest

The League of Women Voters Oakland Area
is asking Oakland County high school stu-
dents to create a public service announce-
ment (PSA) to emphasize conserving energy.
The contest is open to high school stu-
dents who reside in or attend class in
Oakland County. Contest categories are TV,
radio and essay. There are cash prizes for
the winning entries.
Entries will be judged on creativity, origi-
nality, clarity and use of theme. Winning TV
and radio PSAs will be broadcast on local
television and radio stations; the winning
essay will be published in local newspapers.

Chanukah At Kol Ami

Temple Kol Ami is celebrating the third
night of Chanukah at Bim Bam Shabbanukah
