C
loset NV, located at
the Boardwalk in West
Bloomfield, is not only a
breath of fresh air for your wardrobe.
It also is an example of a retail estab-
lishment that can turn your shopping
dollars into a donation to give back to
the community.
With extensive experience in fund-
raising, sisters-in-law Lisa Rosenberg,
44, of West Bloomfield and Robin
Bloom, 51, of Phoenix thought it only
appropriate that their long-awaited
dream store would aid the commu-
nity and not just their closets. Every
month, the store hosts a "Ladies Night"
event that raises money for a charity
that is close to the heart of a customer
or employee.
"I have always looked for ways to
help others with their favorite causes:'
explains Rosenberg. "It is also a great
way to get to know our customers and
consigners:'
Included among the organizations
that have benefited from the monthly
events are Michigan Citizens for Stem
Cell Research & Cures, Haven Garden
Project, Ronald McDonald House and
Grace Center of Hope.
In September, Closet NV hosted a
"Ladies Night" benefiting the ALS
Michigan Chapter, which helps in the
fight to cure and treat amyotrophic lat-
eral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease,
through global, cutting-edge research.
The group also empowers people with
the disease and their families to live
fuller lives by providing them with
compassionate care and support.
In support of the local ALS chapter,
approximately 50 women, of all ages,
came out to Closet NV for a night of
celebrating their love for fashion, food
and fun with special shopping dis-
counts, appetizers and raffles.
The event also showcased many top-
of-the-line items in the store that defi-
nitely got shoppers thinking about the
perfect holiday gifts for the upcoming
season.
"I saw some amazing designer
discount deals, from Prada purses &
wallets to David Yurman jewelry, that
will definitely be appearing on my
Chanukah list this year:' said shop-
per Denise Cykiert, 23, of Farmington
Hills. "'Ladies Night' was a fun way to
get shoppers out during after hours
and give back to the community at the
same time."
During these harsh economic times,
even the savviest of shoppers have
been forced to cut back on luxe labels,
but fashion lovers are still able to
enjoy the finer things in life through
Closet NV.
After successfully selling gently used
items online for a while, Rosenberg
and Bloom, who also is president and
owner of Home Health Exchange in
