His beloved wife, Phyllis, describes him as having been an "unpre- tentious, sincere, generous and dedicated person whose greatest accomplishment was the relationship he had with his fam- ily who loved, respected and admired him." He and Phyllis were married for 69 years. The son of a Detroit scrap dealer, Albert joined his father's business after studying accounting at the University of Detroit. He later founded Metal Ores and Fines Company, becoming an innovative leader in the metal powders industry. Albert touched countless people in need of help, both in the U.S. and Israel. He spent a lifetime expressing his con- cerns — and acting on them — for oth- ers less fortunate. Thirty-four years ago, he joined the American Technion Society, SAUL ABLECOP, 92, of Farmington Hills, died Oct. 18, 2010. He was the owner of Saurs Glass Company in Detroit, which was sold 22 years ago. Mr. Ablecop is survived by his wife, Vivian Ablecop; daughters and son-in-law, Francine Steiger of Virginia, Barbara and Roger Sczerenet of White Lake; grandchil- dren, Seth and Emily Reis, Rebecca and David Bedard, Deborah and Andy Deleon, Matthew Beyers; four great-grandchildren; sister, Ethel Elkind; brother-in-law, Milton Shulman; sister-in-law, Susan Karabelnick.
