Born and raised in Detroit, Judge Denise Langford Morris received her
Juris Doctor (law degree) from the University of Detroit Mercy School
of Law. Judge Langford Morris received her Master of Arts cum laude
in the Guidance and Counseling from Wayne State University in 1978
and spent several years working for the State's Department of Social
Services as a protective services worker, first for disabled adults and
senior citizens - and then for abused and/or neglected children. Her
first full time job in the legal arena was as an assistant Oakland County
Prosecutor.

The Honorable Denise Langford Morris was appointed to the Oakland
County Circuit Court in August of 1992, elected in 1994, re-elected in
2000 and 2006. Oakland County's first African American Circuit Court
judge is the longest serving female judge on the Bench and brings a
diversity of experience with her.
