She grew up in Livonia and Southfield and attended Southfield-Lathrup Schwartz High School. She gradu- ated from Michigan State University in 1983 and earned a master's in special education from Oakland University in 1988, a field she taught in within the Oakland County Schools for many years. Mrs. Schwartz loved people in general and especially children. Although initially told she could not have children herself, she and husband, David, fought for seven years before finally hitting the jackpot with three beautiful boys, beginning in 1995. She was widely known and loved for her unusually engaging and loving spirit. She greeted everyone with a beaming and infectious enthusiasm that made friends and children feel loved, uplifted and cherished. As wife and mother, sister and daughter, teacher, colleague, neighbor and friend, she lovingly touched many lives. As her own children grew, Mrs. Schwartz dedicated many hours as a room mother in various schools and classrooms in the Birmingham schools. She was an avid supporter of her boys' academic and athletic pursuits and an enthusiastic booster of her beloved MSU Spartans. She recently reveled in the presence of many friends at the 30th reunion of her 1979 high school gradua- tion class. The same determined optimism with which Mrs. Schwartz faced the challenge of having children was also evident in her response to her short struggle with Amyloidosis, a bone marrow disorder that damages the heart. She was the beloved wife of David Schwartz; dear mother of Brett, Daniel and Jacob Schwartz; adored daughter of Seymour and Janet Rosen; sister of Andrea (Douglas) Stone and Adam Rosen; aunt of Noah and Katya Stone; sister-in-law of Judy (Ken) Warshaw and Diane Schwartz and Mitchell Wolff; aunt of Randee, Erika and Bradley Warshaw, Olivia and Adrienne Wolff; daughter- in-law of Robert and Harriet Schwartz; niece of Leo and Ceci Rosen. She is also survived by many other loving family and friends.
