T
he Jewish Women's Circle kicked
off its newest season with a
glimpse into the world of cake
decorating as Tzi Perczyk, manager of
the kosher Bake Station in Southfield,
and his assistant gave the women a
demonstration, then had them decorate
their own cakes.
The women took a look at the signifi-
cance of a Jewish birthday and learned
how to celebrate according to Jewish
tradition. This includes reflection on
the past year, a new resolution to bet-
ter one's self and service to God for the
next year, extra charity and reviewing
one's new and old Psalm in correlation
to their age. Lorelei Lipnik of Bloomfield
Hills hosted the event.
The Jewish Women's Circle, a night out
just for women, is a project of the Sara
and Morris Bais Chabad Torah Center in
West Bloomfield and directed by Zeesy
Silberberg. It provides a monthly opportu-
nity for Jewish women to find new friends
and to discover the power of the Jewish
woman through workshops, lectures and
activities. Any Jewish woman can join.
"From Showbiz to Shabbat" is the next
event on Monday, Oct. 18, hosted by Roz
Lea Luger of West Bloomfield tries her
hand at cake decorating.
