r. Scott Cohen, author of
Eat, Sleep, Poop-A Common
Sense Guide to Baby's First
Year, will speak at the Reva Stocker
Lecture sponsored by Jewish Family
Service on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the
Jewish Community Center in West
Bloomfield.
Cohen, M.D., FAAP, is co-founder
of Beverly Hills (Calif.) Pediatrics
and is an attending physician at
Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los
Angeles. He completed his pediat-
ric training in 2003 at Children's
Hospital Los Angeles.
Cohen provides a comical and
authentic view of the experience of
early parenting. He talks about how
legend, common sense and individu-
ality can combine to help parents
in this often-trying transition. He
revives never-forgotten memories of
sleeplessness and loss of control that
are the hallmark of baby's first year.
Recently, Dreamworks purchased the
movie rights to Eat, Sleep, Poop.
In his pediatric practice, Cohen
often finds that new parents come
to him anxious, overwhelmed and
confused — they receive conflict-
ing advice from books, the Internet,
neighbors and relatives. He will
speak about alternatives to strict
regimens and old wives' tales. 0

ogy.

mass index, blood sugar, blood
