Uncle To Compete In Niece's Memory To Help Fight Mast Cell Disease N eal Victor of Huntington Woods will compete in the Janus Charity Challenge to support the Sarah Gittleman Walk for the Mastocytosis Society on Sunday, Oct. 3. Victor will also compete in the Ironman challege on Nov. 6. He is competing and raising funds on behalf of the Mastocytosis Society in memory of his niece, Sarah Gittleman of Royal Oak, who died from mast cell disease at the age of 23. In the Ironman, Victor will swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run 26 miles in one day. Last year, the Mastocytosis Society was able to raise enough money to enable Victor to come in second place in the Janus Charity Challenge fundraising ($8,000). Funds are raised by supporting Victor directly through the Janus Charity Challenge online site or via Sarah's memorial Tri-athlete Neil Victor research fund for the Mastocytosis Society: www.tmsforacure.org/walk/sarahswalk.shtml. The walk for Sarah will be Sunday, Oct. 3, rain or shine, from the Huntington Woods Recreation Center, 26325 Scotia. Registration: 9:15 a.m.; 1.5-mile walk, 10-11 a.m. Refreshments.
