MYRON IRVING
BURNES, 91, of
Santa Monica,
Calif., died Sept. 19,
2010.
He was a man-
agement consultant
who earned his
Burnes
bachelor's and MBA
c. 1970
from Harvard. He
was also a lieuten-
ant commander in
the U.S. Navy during World War II
and an accomplished pianist.
Mr. Burnes is survived by his
wife, Bertha Burnes; daughters
and son-in-law, Ellen Simmons of
Massachusetts, Regina Nuttall of
England, Katherine Burnes and Jay
Levin of Massachusetts, Joan Burnes
of Maryland, Carolyn Burnes of
Washington, D.C., Margaret Burnes
of Illinois; grandchildren, Andrew
Simmons and Kara Provost, Juliette
Simmons, Daniel Nuttall, Keir
Nuttall and Adam Burnes Levin;
great-grandchildren, Alice, Antonia
and Harry. Mr. Burnes was the
beloved husband of the late Alice
Burnes.

DR. ARNOLD LESHMAN, 75, of
West Bloomfield, died Sept. 23, 2010.
He was a dedicated surgeon, who
was always surrounded with fam-
ily and friends including the love of
his life, Sandra. Sandra and Arnold
renewed their vows last year to cel-
ebrate 50 years of marriage.
He loved the simple things in life:
spending time with his children and
grandchildren, playing golf, reading,
watching sporting events and travel,
including spending time at his home
in Florida.
Dr. Leshman's accomplishments
were numerous. While serving as a
physician in Vietnam, he was sta-
tioned at a M.A.S.H. unit and was
awarded the Bronze Star. He was
selected as Outstanding Intern at
Sinai Hospital during 1962-1963
and was chief surgical resident from
1967-1968. Dr. Leshman opened and
directed one of the first independent
mammography centers in the early
1990s and continued operations
